The Regents of the University of California and the Faculty of UC Berkeley invite you to join the campus community for the inauguration of Richard K. Lyons as the 12th chancellor of UC Berkeley.

This is a free but separately ticketed event as part of Alumni and Parents Weekend at Homecoming. Seating is by general admission and limited to two per order. Please register by Monday, October 7.

This event is in-person and online; the link will be published here when it’s available.

Zellerbach Hall is wheelchair accessible. Accessible seating and restrooms are available on both the Orchestra and Mezzanine levels. Assistive listening devices (ALDs) are available free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis. Guests may pick up a device from the Audience Services staff starting one hour prior to performances. A driver’s license or government-issued identification will be required as a deposit for the device. Guests who wish to request additional services or accommodations, including sign language interpreters, please contact the Ticket Office at tickets@calperformances.org at least two weeks prior to the event to ensure the best possible arrangements.

Chief Innovation and Entrepreneurship Officer

Rich Lyons’s research and teaching expertise centers on international economics and finance. His top applied interest is the “how and why” of setting strong institutional cultures. Lyons is the former dean of Berkeley Haas where he currently holds the William and Janet Cronk Chair in Innovative Leadership. Prior to serving as dean, he was the chief learning officer at Goldman Sachs. He received his B.S. with highest honors from UC Berkeley (business) and Ph.D. from MIT (economics). Before (re)joining Berkeley, Lyons served on the faculty at Columbia University for six years.
