East Asian Library Open House
Explore the natural light-filled spaces in the C. V. Starr East Asian Library, and browse Food — as Metaphor, Cultural Marker, and Sustenance. The exhibit showcases early Chinese, Japanese, and Korean books and manuscripts documenting the role of food as a basic necessity and status symbol, as testimony of foreign influence, as a component of state and religious rituals, and as a commonly used metaphor in philosophical and historical texts. Exhibit cases on main and ground floors.
