Exhibit: Preserving Vietnamese Dong Ho Woodblock Prints

This exhibit features a representation of 12 popular woodblock prints by Vietnamese artist Nguyen Dang Che from Dong Ho village in Bac Ninh, Vietnam. Traditionally displayed on Vietnamese New Year, Dong Ho woodblock prints reflect wishes of good fortune and prosperity, folk allegories, and cultural activities. From 2013 to 2015, the government of Vietnam submitted a proposal to UNESCO to recognize the Dong Ho woodblock prints as an “intangible cultural heritage” for preservation and promotion.
