Cal Parents Family Dinner

Friday 6 p.m.8 p.m.  

Enjoy a meal beneath the majestic Campanile while you catch up with your student and meet other Cal families. You’ll take in performances from some of Cal’s favorite student groups and hear the latest campus news. Wine is included for those 21 and older.

$75 per adult (includes wine), $65 Cal students (please note that student meal cards are not accepted) and kids (5–17) on-site if space is available. Registration also includes unlimited access to lectures, tours, open houses, and all the amenities available at Homecoming Headquarters.

Bear Affair Tailgate BBQ

Saturday 10:30 a.m.1:30 p.m.  

Relax before the game at a traditional tailgate barbeque. There will be special seating areas for each alumni class, Cal parents, and student group reunions. We’ll also be celebrating the 75th birthday of our favorite Golden Bear, Oski! You’ll get a souvenir party hat and maybe even a hug from the birthday bear himself. 

$50 per adult, $40 Cal students and kids (5-17) on-site if space is available. Price includes second helpings! Registration also includes unlimited access to lectures, tours, open houses, and all the amenities available at Homecoming Headquarters.

Members of the Charter Hill and Benjamin Ide Wheeler Societies can relax and plan their Homecoming activities in a special area of the Bear Lounge. If you’re a member, we’ll have a special gift for you, as thanks for your ongoing support of the campus. Dedicated staff can answer questions about membership and tell you more about participation in these philanthropic communities. 

The Charter Hill Society (charterhill.berkeley.edu) recognizes donors who make annual gifts totaling $1,000 or more anywhere on campus. The Wheeler Society (planyourlegacy.berkeley.edu) recognizes and thanks individuals and families who provide essential philanthropic support to Berkeley through planned gifts including wills and living trusts, life income plans, and beneficiary designations of retirement plans, brokerage accounts, or life insurance policies.

Homecoming Headquarters

Stop in at Homecoming Headquarters when you first arrive to pick up your name tag. Your name tag gives you access to lectures, museums, libraries, tours, golf cart service, and all of the amenities at Homecoming Headquarters. If you are going straight to your reunion or Cal parents event on Friday, your name tag will be available at the door.

Homecoming Scavenger Hunt

Make sure you experience everything that Reunion and Parents Weekend has to offer by participating in the Homecoming Scavenger Hunt. When you pick up your name tag at Homecoming Headquarters, stop by the Bears Lounge and grab the list of items you’ll hunt for, then bring back your completed list to claim a special prize! The Scavenger Hunt is designed for groups and individuals of all ages.

Parent and Alumni Shabbat

Cal parents, has your student found a community at Berkeley Hillel? Alumni, do you miss hanging out with the awesome staff and enjoying free food? You’re invited to a special evening at Berkeley Hillel. Join us at 6 p.m. for conservative and reform services, followed by a free Shabbat dinner at 7 p.m. Can’t make it to services or dinner but still want to stop by? Join us for dessert and schmoozing with Rabbi Adam and other Jewish student leaders. Dessert will begin at 8:30 p.m. and we’ll continue the festivities until 10 p.m.

Fall Program for Freshmen Parent and Family Coffee Break

Parents and family members of students in FPF Berkeley and FPF San Francisco are invited to join us for coffee and pastries in the FPF Courtyard. This is a casual opportunity for parents and families to connect with FPF advisors, instructors, and student ambassadors. There will be no formal presentation; students and their families are welcome to stop by anytime.
