Homecoming FAQ

What is Homecoming?

Homecoming is the campus’s largest annual event welcoming thousands of alumni, parents, and students to enjoy a weekend together on campus. Besides the game, Homecoming also includes alumni reunions and Parents Weekend. Below is the schedule through 2012, which is subject to change if the PAC-10 schedule changes.

How do I register?

See the Registration section for options and instructions.

How do I get my registration packet?

Registration packets will not be mailed. When you arrive on campus, go to Homecoming Headquarters near the Campanile, Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. If you are going straight to your Cal Parents or reunion event, your packet, which includes pre-purchased event tickets and your nametag, will be held at the door.

How can I order football game tickets?

With a PAC-10 match-up this hot, the Cal vs. USC game will surely sell out. A very limited number of tickets will be available for Homecoming guests between July 8 and August 14, but you must register for Homecoming first to be eligible. We will then give you a special code and direct you to the Cal Bears ticket office. Tickets are $66 each (not including fees) and are first-come, first served. A maximum of six tickets will be available per group.

Where should I stay?

Visit the Berkeley Convention and Visitors Bureau web site for a listing of nearby hotels. Make your reservations early.

Where can I park throughout the weekend?

Reserved parking is sold out for Saturday, Oct. 3. Parking might be available in surrounding city and private lots on a first-come, first-served basis, but expect to pay at least $50 for the day. We highly recommend using public transportation. See the Travel Planning section for complete details.

Is there disabled parking?

You must purchase a disabled parking permit for Friday and Saturday when you register for Homecoming. For Sunday, purchase a disabled permit from the kiosks in each lot. Call 888.UNIV.CAL (888.864.8225) for details.

What do I wear that weekend?

Show your pride with your favorite Cal gear and blue and gold clothes. Bring layers and rain gear. We recommend cocktail attire if you are attending the Blue and Gold Reunion Dinner.

Can I get the contact information for one of my classmates?

E-mail your information and the name of the person you want to reach to homecoming@berkeley.edu, and we will forward it to that person. We cannot give out any personal information without approval.
